Somehow it is already Fall and the Holidays will be here soon! There are plenty of family-friendly events across the Tampa Bay area year-round. So, we are shining our Spotlight on a few upcoming ones for you!
Fox Squirrel Corn Maze
Saturdays & Sundays, September 27 – October 26, 10am-5pm
What better time to be outside and enjoy the Fall festivities? The Fox Squirrel Corn Maze has something for the entire family. Everything from pumpkin patches, hayrides, jumping pads, to food trucks, games, and of course a corn maze! This festival runs for 5 consecutive weekends offering lots of days to attend. $14 admission and kids below the age of 4 are free (plus free parking).

Halloween on Central
Sunday, October 26, Noon-5pm
The 5th Annual Halloween on Central is taking place this year on Sunday, October 26th! Central Ave will be closed for 22 blocks to traffic and open to street vendors with plenty of family & pet friendly Trick or Treating fun. While we moved our office to 1st Ave South, we are continuing our involvement at our previous office location (2132 Central Ave). We will have plenty of candy for the kids, so please come visit us and celebrate this vibrant community event. Pick out your best costume and we look forward to seeing you there!
Tarpon Springs Seafood Festival
Friday-Sunday, November 7 – November 9
The 37th Annual Tarpon Springs Seafood Festival combines great food and family fun featuring Gulf Coast flavors, culture and community. The 3-day event begins at noon on Friday, 11/7 with a variety of activities including local artist, live music, entertainment, family fun zone and even a Chef Showdown! The festival is free, pet friendly and is for families of all ages.
Shopapalooza Festival at Vinoy Park
Saturday-Sunday, November 29-30, 10am-5pm
Come out to support the local, small businesses along the scenic St. Petersburg waterfront. Shopapalooza, known as one of the largest shopping festivals in the Southeast, features over 350 local businesses, various food vendors, live entertainment, interactive experiences like painting with a local muralist, an Adoptable Pet Fashion Show and much more!
Tampa Holiday Lighted Boat Parade
Saturday, December 20th, 6:15pm
Come enjoy the beauty of the season along the Riverwalk on Saturday, December 20th when the annual Holiday Lighted Boat Parade will take place! From Sparkman Wharf to Curtis Hixon Park and all the way to Armature Works – you will be able to see all types of boats displaying their dazzling lights with festive music all around. This promises to be a memorable night for the entire family!

Especially during this time of year, please let someone else do the driving! The Holidays are busy enough with all the upcoming celebrations with colleagues, friends, and family. Here are some tips to help you prepare:
- Whether traveling locally or out of the area - schedule your ride ahead of time! You can choose your pickup date and time along with the location. You will be sent reminders in advance of your pickup.
- You can fare-split if you are sharing your ride with a friend.
- You can also share your status with those you are meeting through these apps. Just look for the “share status” and you can send a map of your route and expected time of arrival.
- If you are hosting out-of-town guests, you can create member profiles in your app and treat your friends and family to a ride.

Rubber Ducky’s Birthday Bash
Saturday, January 17
The World’s Largest Rubber Duck is booked for a floating “residency” of sorts at Coachman Park January 9th – 26th. Come take pictures with the Mama Duck, run or walk in the Duck Dash 5K on January 11th and don’t miss her birthday party on Saturday, January 17th starting at 10am with concerts by Jack Hartmann and Mr. Brad. The bash will have lots of family friendly activities including a petting zoo and children’s crafts!
Pinellas Taco Fest
Saturday, January 24 – Sunday, January 25
Are you ready to join a mouth-watering fiesta at the 5th Annual Pinellas Taco Fest? Then come enjoy the culinary competition and indulge in some traditionally & “fusion” inspired tacos while taking in some Live music. There will be a dedicated kid zone, great food and drinks at this Free two-day event at England Brothers Park.

Gasparilla Distance Classic
Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22
The 49th annual Gasparilla Distance Classic race weekend is Saturday, February 21 through Sunday, February 22. Saturday kicks it off with the 15K run, 5K walk/run followed by the 8K & half marathon on Sunday. Hard to beat a competitive (or not) family event along scenic Bayshore Boulevard. You know what to do!
Clearwater Library Comic Con
Saturday, March 7
Comic Con at the library is no longer just about comic books but covers all pop culture bringing together fans and creators to enjoy their passion. Differing from the annual massive touring event, the Clearwater Library will host this annual & Free event from 10am – 5pm at the Countryside Rec Center. Featuring special guests, vendors, food trucks and activities, fans of all ages are encouraged to dress up & turn the page while making new friends on a fun day to remember!

The Great Junk Hunt – Tampa
Friday, March 13 – Saturday, March 14
The Great Junk Hunt is finally making it to Tampa! So anyone who might be looking for that unique item, can discover something over these two days at the Florida State Fairgrounds. Explore vintage, rustic, farmhouse, industrial, hand-made or re-purposed treasures. It will be an enteratining day filled with live music and available cocktails for the adults.
