We would like to remind you to review all insurance coverages for the upcoming year, particularly your automobile policies. I can not tell you how many clients have been seriously injured and think they have " full coverage ", only to learn after an auto accident that they do not have uninsured motorist coverage. Uninsured or Underinsured coverage acts to take the place of the at fault drivers coverage if they have none, or if they have only minimal coverage to help pay for your injuries. Often the insurance companies do not want to sell this coverage and do little to explain what it is to you. I have seen multiple times at this firm, when clients have been seriously hurt by a drunk driver and that driver has no insurance We have seen numerous occasions our clients are seriously injured by a drunk driver that was driving without insurance. To make matters worse, after finding out that the drunk driver has no assets, we also learn that our client signed a waiver with their insurance company that rejected uninsured motorist coverage from which we could recover damages. Unfortunately, in this instance the injured person has little or no recourse. Please, this holiday season protect yourself as much as you would others and have Uninsured motorist coverage on all your vehicles.
